The purpose of the Society

The Society promotes the scholarly study of social and economic history and represents the interests of the field in public life and in dialogue with education-policy decision-makers.

The Society’s academic objective

This objective is pursued in close contact both with the wider historical discipline and with the relevant specialist academic organisations. Particular attention is given to relations with organisations abroad that have similar aims.

Membership

Membership is open to individuals and corporate bodies. A written application should be submitted to the Executive Board. The annual membership fee is €20. Further information is available on the membership page.
